SAFE TRAVEL TO CONVENTION ON WINTER ROADS

Please make plans to travel safely to teachers’ convention. If you are not able to make it to your assigned convention, your collective agreement may include impassable roads or inclement weather clauses that could be accessed. If your collective agreement does not include language specific to road conditions or weather, you may make use of the personal leave clauses of your agreement in most cases. Please be aware that using any of these types of leave may require you to pay substitute costs, forego a portion of your salary and benefits, or report to your school or another work location in your district. Refer to your collective agreement for more information.

Should you require any additional information or if you need assistance interpreting your collective agreement, please contact the Association’s Teacher Employment Services Duty Officer at 1-800-232-7208 or 780-447-9400.

WE CARE A LATTE!
Together, we can make a difference. Please consider donating $5 (the cost of a latte) to help The Boyle Street Community put an end to homelessness.  Cite “We Care a Latte” as the fundraiser, and NCTCA as the organization to help us see the total from our teachers.

PBS is one support tool that Blackgold uses to create connections with home / student / classroom to gain insight into creating a meaningful solution to improving student behavior. However, within the walls of the classroom, we have to adapt and tweak to make meaningful connections and usable solutions to get students to buy in. This presentation will give an example of a PBS strategy that one school in Blackgold utilizes, along with some classroom modifications that have proved successful. We will walk teachers through all steps, from classroom observations, team meetings, collaborators and their roles... to how to roll out on day 1. The strategy being presented can be used as universal strategy or for individual students.
